Packaging of Parcels over 25 kg

For your parcels weighing more than 25 kg, it is very important to evaluate your packaging materials and make sure that they are suitable for heavier parcel contents. Use the following guidelines to securely pack your heavy packages.

·         The boxes should be firmly made, preferably with joints sewn or fastened with a fastener, and not just glued. Check the strength of your box by checking the manufacturer's certificate, usually located on the bottom flap of the box, to ensure that the dimension limit and gross weight limit are not exceeded.

·         Use new boxes with full strength, not degraded by moisture or wear from previous use,

·         Seal the box with heavy-duty tape (preferably reinforced) by applying three strips to the top and bottom of the box to seal the middle joint and the two end joints.

·         Use only high density damping material to protect the contents of the heavy package. The pieces ("shrimp") of expanded polystyrene and the crumpled paper do not protect your shipment effectively, as they are compressed and move under heavy weight. Cases made of specially made corrugated cardboard or specially designed foam are more effective and enhance the rigidity of the outer box.

·         When tying parcels together with tape, each parcel must be in a box designed to support the total weight of all parcels.

·         Only parcels of the same dimensions may be tied together.

Use of heavy parcel marking stickers

For labeling the heavy parcels with the weight of 25 kg use self-adhesive label and stickers. Apply the bright yellow heavyweight parcel sticker to your parcel to the right of the address label for better visibility, and write the weight of the parcel in the white area of the label.

When using these high visibility heavyweight parcel stickers, they can give them special attention and give them the special management they need and deserve. The stickers warn our employees and your customers that special attention should be paid to the safe management of these parcels.
