Do you know the difference between kraft paper and corrugated paper?

As for paper, I believe that we are all familiar with it. It is as small as food packaging paper in our lives, as well as relatively large electrical packaging paper. In short, the application of paper in our lives can be said to be very extensive. Today we come to understand the difference between corrugated paper and kraft paper, are they two different types of paper? Can they be applied to each other?

1.    The difference between corrugated paper and kraft paper:

Corrugated paper is a board formed by bonding liner paper and corrugated paper formed by corrugated stick processing. Corrugated paper can be divided into five different types. Compared with kraft paper, corrugated paper has many advantages of its own. The cost of corrugated paper is relatively low, the quality is relatively light, and the processing paper is relatively simple. It is not very high, and another feature is that the paper is relatively strong, and it is more convenient to store and transport.

As for kraft paper, compared to corrugated paper, the application range of kraft paper is also wider. For example, it is often used in packaging papers such as printing and packaging factories, carton factories, garment factories, and food packaging. And cattle cardboard is also one of the indispensable materials for printing plants. Generally speaking, kraft paper is more widely used than corrugated paper.

Kraft cardboard and corrugated base paper, one is "skin" and the other is "core"

Cardboard paper, also known as kraft paperboard, is one of the main paper types of carton paper. The texture of kraft paper must be tough, with high burst resistance, ring compressive strength and tearing. In addition, it must have high water resistance. The main purpose of boxboard is to bond with a corrugated core to make a corrugated box, which is used to package household appliances, daily necessities, knitted cotton fabrics, stationery and medicines.

Corrugated core paper:

Corrugated base paper is one of the important components for the production of corrugated board. Corrugated base paper requires good fiber bonding strength, smooth paper surface, good tightness and stiffness, and a certain degree of elasticity to ensure that the finished carton has shock resistance and pressure resistance. Also known as corrugated core paper, it is the raw paper used to form the corrugated core of corrugated cardboard. In addition, the moisture index should be controlled. If the moisture is too small, the paper will be brittle and cracks will occur during corrugated processing; if the moisture is too large, the paper will be soft, which will cause difficulties in processing and molding. Generally, the moisture content of paper should be controlled at about 10%.

Which paper is hard kraft paper or corrugated paper?

From the raw material, it should be kraft paper. Because most or all of kraft paper is wood pulp, while corrugated paper is composed of a lot of recycled pulp, waste paper pulp and impurities.

Two, the mutual application between corrugated paper and kraft paper:

Many household appliances outer packaging protective cartons, beer cartons and various transportation outer packaging boxes have a wide range of applications in real life. Most of the raw materials of these cartons are also made of corrugated paper combined with facial paper. The outer facial paper is relatively smooth, which is kraft paper. The corrugated paper inside, like a wave, is five types of corrugated paper such as ABCEF.

Uses of corrugated paper: Generally speaking, AB grade corrugated paper can be used to make relatively thick shipping outer packaging boxes. The household appliances packaging boxes and wine industry boxes that are usually seen are AB corrugated paper, and CE type corrugated paper there are certain external aesthetic requirements, usually one-piece packaging boxes with a certain weight are appropriately placed. EF is a miniature corrugated paper, which can be used for cheese, snacks, bread, hamburgers, and as food packaging, disposable. At the same time, it can also be applied to the packaging of some audio systems, frozen products and digital cameras.

The outer shape of the corrugated boxboard paper is made of kraft paper (face paper), the inner core paper processing and the corrugated glue between the two. Ordinary packaging boxes are corrugated one or two times. The thicker ones can have 3 to 5, 6 layers, and the better ones have 7, 8 to 10 layers. This depends on the application scope and requirements of the carton to customize.

The printing of corrugated paper is generally based on embossing, gravure printing and offset printing; among them, packaging kraft paper and cattle cardboard have played a considerable combined application in the process of combining with corrugated paper. A lot of corrugated paper, packaging paperboard, and outer surface paper that I usually see use cow cardboard and thinner kraft wrapping paper. The outer surface of the packaging carton can be printed again. At this time, the cow cardboard combined with the corrugated cardboard box plays a role again. From this, we can see how close the application of the cow cardboard and the corrugated paper is to each other.

Third, the difference between kraft paper and paper bags in high-strength corrugated paper:

Bag paper: bag paper is similar to kraft paper. Most of it is produced from softwood kraft pulp. It is also produced by mixing some bamboo pulp, cotton stalk pulp and rag pulp in China. Therefore, paper bag paper has high mechanical strength and is generally used to make cement. , Pesticides, fertilizers and other industrial products packaging bags. In order to meet the requirements of filling, paper bag paper requires certain air permeability and greater elongation.

Kraft paper: Including cardboard paper, cement bag paper, high-strength corrugated paper, and brown cardboard. Kraft paper is a high-strength wrapping paper made of softwood sulphate natural color pulp with tough texture, high strength, and yellow-brown paper surface. From the appearance, it can be divided into single-sided light, double-sided light, striped, and non-striped varieties. The quality requirements are slightly different. Kraft paper is mainly used to make small paper bags, document bags and inner packaging for industrial products, textiles, and daily necessities.

Corrugated paper and kraft paper have their own advantages and disadvantages:

We should give full play to the advantages of corrugated paper and kraft paper and apply their advantages to our production and life. For the shortcomings of corrugated paper and kraft paper, we try to avoid them. Make good use of corrugated paper and kraft paper and apply them to production.
